Hey folks, quick update for you on the state of the latest update. It's churning away slowly, as always. However, I'm excited for this next update. In addition to a really exciting new gameplay feature that's in the works we've got some usability of aesthetic updates. For example, large battles to date have honestly been a bit of a mess. Yeah you can sort of figure out what's going on, but really, they're just a big slugfest that's hard to track. I've made a few small but important updates to how the game displays mech names and health bars when you zoom out, which I think makes things a lot more manageable (see the screenshot above).
As for the rest of the visual and aesthetic updates (I believe) they give the game a much needed layer of polish and make battles a lot more satisfying. While I know that you guys all know how fun the game can be, to date I think MetalMercs has been a little rough around the edges. I suppose I don't want to hype these changes up as some kind of total redesign, but I have dedicated quite a bit of time to try to polish the little features in the game that needed some love.
I'm hopeful that in a few weeks I'll be ready for a new livestream to show off the new version, and I may have another announcement or two to make about the future of the game. More to come soon!
