December Agenda
Added 2019-12-09 18:48:06 +0000 UTCHello, my lovelies!
So, it's time to lay out our (rough) plan for December. I have a lot planned for this month. But first, let's be honest with ourselves here: We always think we'll get more done over Winter Break than we really can. Things come up. Family comes down. A big tree keeps sparkling and glittering and distracting us from what need to be done. We may be free from the Smut Desert that was November, but it's pretty likely I won't get as much done as I hoped. We'll have to wait for next summer to really step things up again, but as always, I really appreciate your patience!
I have three broad priorities for December:
- Chapter Stories
- Patreon Content
- The Lounge
So, let's break that down a little bit.
1. Chapter Stories
This is, obviously, the big goal for December: Get more stories out, darnit! We have a lot on the way. For one thing, I still owe you lovelies the October Bonus Pairing (Alchemist vs. Bride), which is outlined, but not yet drafted. And there's the Bonus Pairing Revisited, which I'll have all patrons voting on in about a week's time.
My Helpless Hamadryads get to help pick the finalists right now, of course! If you can and haven't yet, go vote now!
I also really, really want to finally finish Intrepid Pawns, so I'm going to want to get some chapters written of that. I hope to finish it in January.
Finally, there are some extra-long commissions on the boilerplate. In particular, there's a story about a rose dryad and a story about Senya falling into Celeste's clutches—those two commissioners have been incredibly patient with me, so I want to get to those post-haste.
2. Patreon Content
So, I keep saying how much I appreciate all of you, but I haven't had the chance to really show it for a while. This month, I want to get back into the flow of sprints, flashfics, D&Dazes transcripts, alt-ends (there are four on the way!), and Vault entries in general. You all deserve a reward for sticking with me through November, after all. <3
I have a bunch of commissioned flashfics on the way, and starting at the end of this week, I'll be able to get a lot of material wrapped up and slipped under the tree, so to speak. Currently, my top priority is getting those Bad Ends and commissions finished up!
I really just need to free up my mornings again, and luckily, with classes letting out, I'll have most of the month to spend working. I hope to have some "stocking stuffers" ready and edited by the 25th.
3. Lounging in Ecstasy
So, the gamebook. Long neglected, long pushed to the back of the line so I can focus on the "real" stories. Coding is hard, and it's a tricky story to write in general. That said, I know it's important to all of you, and it's important to me, too! So what's the plan?
Well, for now, the focus is going to be on getting the current chapter drafted. I want to have it done by the end of the month—and if I don't, I'm going to put everything else aside and make it the chief priority for January, because I think we're all tired of the story being shunted aside. :P
In the future, I'm going to make my gamebooks way less code-heavy and way more Choose-Your-Own-Adventurey. But for now, we're going to stay the course and do our best to make this worth the wait!
So, with no further ado, my December Agenda...
1. The mostly-finished Prince's Bride Bad End and 5 mostly-finished lavender dryad flashfics
2. Intrepid Pawns 15
3. Bimbo Ballet/Warm Welcome/Intrepid Pawns Bad Ends
4. Alchemist vs. Bride Bonus Pairing, Chapter One (almost definitely gonna be a two-parter)
5 Chapter 3 of Lounging in Ecstasy
+ December Bonus Pairing
+ Rose Dryad story
+ Intrepid Pawns 16, Senya vs. Celeste story, flashfics, and D&Dazes transcripts
I would love to have #1 completed by the end of the week, #2 and #3 completed next week, #4 and #5 completed by the end of the year, and the "bonus" items are for, well, if I can manage them.
To help me achieve all of this, I'm planning to conduct another all-day writing session sometime this month—probably either this weekend or the week after. The goal of the all-day writing session will be to write 25,000 words and ideally clear out some of this queue in one fell swoop.
I hope you can join me when the time comes, as I'm sure it's going to be tons of fun! If the weather permits, I might go outside and find a lonely meadow to work from. The cold is good for my work ethic.
As always, I know December is a rough time for all of us, and I really appreciate your continued support over the holidays. If financial constraints require you to pull out for a little while, I completely understand. I promise I'll be here when you get back. ♥
Oh, also, feel free to share your thoughts on all of this! What do you think my priorities for December should be? What should I be focusing on? Let me know in the comments below, because this month, I want to make you all feel valued.
Happy Holidays!
