I don't hate Christmas but...
Added 2017-12-20 10:18:06 +0000 UTCThis time of the year has a way of unravelling the ribbon holding me together. I laugh but the sad truth is that I don't have wonderful memories. That being said, I'm just adjusting to make sure i don't fall apart completely. I'm gonna do a voice update for you lovelies soon. My goodness, you're all so supportive and I can't thank you enough.
As part of the effort to make new and better memories I do have some festive themed things planned. I also sing alot (if you hadn't noticed lol) it's a coping thing. so - Christmas album. Sorry! :)

2017-12-20 15:38:34 +0000 UTCSomething practical, if corny. And somebody else probably came up with this too, but for the moment, I'm claiming authorship. Every morning, before I get out of bed, I ask myself "OK, smarty, tell me 5 good things that happened yesterday." In other people, this would be "Oh how precious! What a nice way to start the day!" -- for me, it's much more diabolical. Y'see, what happens if I can't come up with 5 things in the morning? I lose. Well, I HATE losing. So that means, over the course of the day I'm forced to actually NOTICE when something good happens so I can remember it for the list the next morning. That means I actually manage to make myself feel a little better (darn it!) by noticing good stuff AND winning the game. Just a suggestion. (You could put "Having someone care enough to embarrass himself with a sappy suggestion on the Internet" on your list for tomorrow morning, if you like.)

2017-12-20 10:50:18 +0000 UTC*offers hugs* I get that feeling. Christmas is hyped as the "best time of the year", which can make you feel... Less, if your memories are anything but perfect. Take your time, and if you need someone to talk to, we're here.
