They mentioned in the podcast that at least early in the shows run they didnβt do 2 parters because they wanted to be able to play random episodes for reruns and not have to worry about the order.

I can't tell you how many times I've been called into offices, written up, or nearly kicked out of programs because I mentioned or alluded to supernatural things (mostly from Charmed, Buffy, and The Craft).... It was insane.

2023-01-31 07:43:33 +0000 UTCOh man, we used to get loads of free CDs in the mail back then. They'd send you a selection, then you were supposed to cancel the trial before a certain date (but no one ever did) and they'd just keep sending you CDs every month until they caught on that you were not paying the bill. Then you would switch to a new name. π This was probably in my top 10 favorite episodes of the series. I am not sure why that is, but I was obsessed with this one growing up. I love the spell and that it was up to Phoebe to save the day, and I loved learning more about the house.

Looking forward to next 2 episodes, ep16 is fun, ep17 is a genuinely good episode especially for season 1. Actually the rest of the season is enjoyable.

Now go away, and leave my sight, And take with you this endless night.

2023-01-31 04:15:07 +0000 UTCI have a feeling that, after all the witches you've watched over the course of the shows you've reacted to (Willow on Buffy, Bonnie and all the witches of the Vampire Diaries, not to mention Freya, Davina, Vincent, and all the witches in The Originals), you're going to be REALLY underwhelmed at a lot of the magic in Charmed lmao. The strength of the show was in the relationships between the characters, during a time when the showrunners had to be really careful to not cross the line into "too much" magic stuff, or else it might be viewed as somewhat Satanic (don't laugh - that's why SO many religious parents refused to allow their kids to watch the Harry Potter movies when they first came out - because they felt that much magic crossed the line for them and made the movies Satanic). The magic in Charmed was secondary, especially in the early seasons. It seems like you're expecting magic on the level of the more recent shows you've reacted to. You won't get that on this show. And it's crazy to me that you actually had to look up who Aaron Spelling is. Def showed our age gap lmao. That man was behind SO many popular TV shows when I was growing up.
