Lol Some advice if you’re going to be continuing this show… don’t take things too seriously. It is a very melodramatic and unrealistic story in general, that they made as a way families can have conversations about sex and pregnancy. I never thought the show did it well, I just think it’s entertaining as hell lol But saying this, yes, the guys do suck, but they intentionally suck, I think. It’s interesting that you say you don’t know a guy like Jack. I knew MANY guys like Jack and Ricky and a few like Ben. Not to attack guys, but many high school boys were in fact, awful lol And adult men while we’re at it. That’s the representation we need haha But in all seriousness, we’re in the fifth episode of the first season. Characters change and grow, priorities change, etc. I’m sure you’ll find a guy you can connect to if that’s what you want. About Ben proposing - it’s a very dumb idea but he proposed because Amy is pregnant. That’s the only reason why. Sure, he thinks that they love each other, but there’s no way we would have gotten a proposal, if he hasn’t found out about Amy’s pregnancy. FYI, it wasn’t just one conversation with his dad. Hearing it from his father sealed the deal for him, I’m sure. In the last couple of episodes, I believe we’ve heard at least a couple of conversations about the possibility of Amy being pregnant. Ben was just in denial until he was approached by his father. Amy finding out that Ben knows that she’s pregnant also wasn’t weird to me. People unfortunately link marriage and babies together, so Ben probably thinks he’s fixing the problem entirely by getting married. But Amy knows that Ben wouldn’t just propose out of nowhere - it would have to be because he knows. Reasonable deduction imo. And I don’t think we needed to see Ricky overhear the rumor. I actually really liked the decision that we DON’T see that, but rather see that it’s the thing that brought him back to therapy and what kind of state he was in there.
