Game Reviews #1 [Tomb Raider, DARQ, Desk Job, Deathloop]

Y'all got me games so I figure I got a few gamers out there, ye? Since I can't unbox these here's a little round up of what I been playing when NJ goes to bed:
Tomb Raider [2013]
I loved this game! First thing I played on the Deck! Seeing young Lara's "origin story" was fucking dope and watching her go from whiney little rich girl to badass b!tch was awesome. Some great voice acting. Very little on screen UI so everything looked like a movie. Good length, fun secrets, good plot [as good as Tomb Raider can be, ya know?] and great combat/exploration loop. Fully recommend for those who want a fun and more simple action game. It plays pretty linear with some "open" exploration.
DARQ
Fun little indie puzzle game with Edward Gorey aesthetic for those who like to think outside the box. If you're into this genre, definitely worth a few bucks.
Desk Job
Nate Bargatze and J. K. Simmons are in this little 30 minute "intro-to-your-deck" free game and it's really quite humorous and fun.
Deathloop
A game for more serious gamers than I. Incredible voice acting and really cool story but a bit too much trial and error for me as an adult to invest in. If you are the type of person who finds most mystery games too easy, this roguelite open-world is worth a try. Kind of like Obra Dinn in how much you have to pay attention. Worth all the praise it gets but a bit too involved for ol' Doc. Truly a game for gamers who like to take notes and the like.

My house is consumed by call of duty 🫠 the kids venture out: Elden Ring, Spider-Man and the legend of Zelda, one of my faves growing up too. I’m selfishly trying to get them into prince of Persia, Tomb raider and Max Payne (I was hooked on these) When I do play it’s on the switch. We play all the Lego games 🫣 even when I think they’re “too cool” or “too old” to play, they’re always down. I was telling them about the streets of rage 3 controversy and now they want to give that a try. Found out there’s a 4?! So that’s on the list.

(I'll have to see if it's available on the Switch tho, I couldn't justify spending the money on the steam deck for myself bc I am not even a little bit a gamer.) (despite the fact that I have a switch, a PS3, and at least two different GameBoys in my home, lol.) (also somehow am always interested in game reviews? Idk how my brain works, mang.)
