She doesn't have a lot of people close to her because not only does everyone seem to want something from her but she also feels her only worth is what she can do for others. Adora's ex was actually a gold digger, and Adora didn't know until her family told her after they had been broken up for a while.

I imagine it would be hard to make friends or date if you come to suspect anyone who comes into your sphere is a gold digger…well at least Adora’s ex didn’t seem to be a gold digger. I hope no one accuses Catra of that if they do start dating.
