My shots of Porcelain on Playboy.com!
I'm honored to have my third set of photos featured onto Playboy Magazine's website. I knew Kayla's images were special, but it's nice to get noticed by such a timeless publication.

As Susan and I drove away, we reflected on what a fun, fulfilling, and productive morning we had just had. I couldn't have asked for a better shoot and could not have asked for better company, all around. I felt like a helluva lucky guy who didn't deserve that level of satisfaction, but I appreciate...
2016-07-13 22:25:55 +0000 UTC View PostAs Susan and I packed up our gear, Kayla changed into a fabulous pair of pants, that of course she easily ROCKED. And though my good camera was already stowed in my bag, i couldn't help but capture a few shots of those pants with my phone camera. How could anyone not fall for this special lady??
2016-07-13 22:10:50 +0000 UTC View PostBut eventually time did get away from us and i knew we would have to end our shoot once and for all.
2016-07-13 22:07:51 +0000 UTC View PostThis was yet another angle that she looked flawless from, and I clicked away furiously as the time ticked down, with Susan helping anywhere she could, moving items from the background, adjust small bits of hair, or just helping me catch small details I was otherwise ignoring. The benefits of a good ...
2016-07-13 22:06:15 +0000 UTC View PostAfter repeatedly trying to get a higher and higher angle in order to shoot her from above, I decided to bite the bullet and hop up on the bed myself, asking her if it was okay if I straddled her from above to achieve the shots I wanted. As usual, she was game for anything.
2016-07-13 22:04:15 +0000 UTC View PostRunning out of ideas, I just advised Kayla to just roam around the bed, the light was too perfect to want her anywhere else anymore.
2016-07-13 22:01:00 +0000 UTC View PostAnd it wouldn't be a Mark Velasquez photo shoot without yet another gratuitous booty shot.
2016-07-13 21:59:50 +0000 UTC View PostOnce again, a shot I'm incredibly proud of. I'm a sucker for lines and angles, of the geometry of a room or background that adds so much to an already beautiful subject. This shot sums up all of that quite easily, I feel.
2016-07-13 21:58:45 +0000 UTC View PostHer eye contact is always on point.
2016-07-13 21:36:09 +0000 UTC View PostAnd this shot, too. The play of light across the skin of her tummy and hips is just heavenly.
2016-07-13 21:34:48 +0000 UTC View PostHere is another one of my favorite shots from this shoot, and maybe one of my favorites I've taken all year. It's so subtle and easy, yet compositionally perfect at the same time. Forgive me for sounding boastful, but I think it's pretty great.
2016-07-13 21:33:43 +0000 UTC View PostIt would be difficult to ask for anything more.
2016-07-13 21:32:03 +0000 UTC View PostOnce again, she killed me. The natural window light and highlights of her soft skin tone was absolutely perfect.
2016-07-13 21:31:19 +0000 UTC View PostFinally done with the bathroom shots but with still several minutes at our disposal, I decided to have her hop on the bed for one last series of shots. unsure of what to have her wear, we opted for the always appreciated "as little as possible."
2016-07-13 21:18:53 +0000 UTC View PostAnd I really love this one, too.
2016-07-13 21:17:30 +0000 UTC View PostThis is one of many shots I would consider my favorite of this shoot.
2016-07-13 21:15:57 +0000 UTC View PostOnce again, my ability to get Kayla to laugh, which is a joy to witness, is a constant highlight of working with her. Not that it's difficult to make her laugh, but her smile and outburst is so charming and inspiring that mere words do not do it justice. I hope you all get to experience it in ...
2016-07-13 21:14:49 +0000 UTC View PostHer stunning, curvaceous form is both seductive and overwhelming. It's difficult to beat this level of natural beauty.
2016-07-13 21:12:04 +0000 UTC View PostAgain, Kayla channeled a strength and almost intimidating persona, which of course was both sexy and scary, yet Susan and I couldn't help but be riveted by the moment.
2016-07-13 21:09:47 +0000 UTC View PostFinally it was time to shoot in the bathroom, or rather, at the bathroom door. Though the interior was pretty cramped, it served as a perfect background for our running theme. Porcelain, whose real name is Kayla, is so frikkin' adorable, and I'm proud to share these outtakes of her being herself, ac...
2016-07-13 21:08:20 +0000 UTC View PostBefore she took off that dress one last time, we had her sit in the sunlight and we shot a beautiful play of light and shadow. This isn't the kind of image that will get a lot of likes or comments online, but it's a beautiful and subtle piece of art, in my humble opinion.
2016-07-13 21:05:59 +0000 UTC View PostI could have filled up my entire memory card there, but knew we had to keep moving, since all of us were on a time crunch. The check-out time for the room was in less than an hour, and Susan and I had plans to go off somewhere and maybe get drunk. Or at least that was my plan after the long and hect...
2016-07-13 21:02:58 +0000 UTC View PostShe commanded the room, as she often does, and fitting her into a larger space compositionally definitely changed how I viewed both her and the space around her.
2016-07-13 21:01:15 +0000 UTC View PostOur third set-up was just at the foot of the bed, where I sat facing the other wall. That area of the room had even more great details, which the Madonna Inn is famous for. I asked porcelain to put that same dress back on, or rather, to put it on and take it off, and the results were once again spec...
2016-07-13 20:59:30 +0000 UTC View PostThere are simply no words...
2016-07-13 20:56:27 +0000 UTC View PostOnce again, Porcelain never needed much direction, and apart from Susan and I exclaiming about how perfect she looked, we really didn't say much at all. During the shoot, I often just used my patented phrase "Do something..." to Porcelain and she went to work.
2016-07-13 20:54:25 +0000 UTC View PostThen my assistant that day, talented photographer and friend Susan Nason (follow her blog - http://thepotnkettleproject.squarespace.com/), helped me set up some lighting. Though we didn't end up using t...
2016-07-13 20:49:53 +0000 UTC View PostHer ability to stare into your soul is both painful and irresistible.
2016-07-13 20:41:45 +0000 UTC View PostNext we moved to the corner opposite the bed, where she easily fit in, making full use of the elaborately designed Rococo mirror and classic sofa.
