Last “winter“ in New Orleans I partied allllll tooooo much. I didn’t play enough music; instead I listened. I consumed as much live music as a I could. New Orleans is incredibly saturated with talented musicians; jazz, jug bands, country and folk and on and on and on. I decided at the end of summer of 22, that I would commit myself to playing more myself.
I set my sights. My goals for winter (aka my season in New Orleans that actually consists fall, winter, and spring 7-8 months) were to play more music, book gigs, and play more WITH other musicians. The Nola season was abundant! Not financially, (bahahaha) but I surely achieved alllllll these goals. Not only did I play a lot of music with a lot of really amazing musicians in New Orleans, I bopped up to Alaska for a month to play a winter tour there.
