I died when he said the tree swallowed that boy and shyt him out, and imagine him having to explain that to his therapist 🤣🤣 Gold JL, back in the day we didn't have 24/7 programming on TV. At a certain time between 12 and 2am-ish, after the last program of the day, the national anthem would come on and then go to snow screen, dead air . I actually remember this as a kid. Poltergeist is one of my favorite horror films of all time bc in my opinion it's not just horror, but it does a good job of being a drama and letting you know the characters. To me the best horror films are not rushed and have very dramatic roles or scenes. Carol Anne's mom did a great job fighting for her daughter, her emotions etc. As a boy I had a crush on the mom, not gonna lie lol Today's films would never allow any character buildup, they just have a rule of having some action or tired jump scare happen every so many minutes with superficial characters that are not memorable. The movies of the 70s, 80s and 90s had so much depth. That is an iconic music score. Please react to part 2, its worthy in my opinion. Also, do you know about the Poltergeist curse? Supposedly a number of people attached to the films died in natural causes or murder etc but people always say it's the Poltergeist curse bc they apparently used real skeletons in the pool scene. Many actors would pass away. Even little Carol Anne died before part 3 released in theaters. The one who plays the sister got murdered by her bf after part 1 I think. Other characters from part 2 would die soon after the movie. It's pretty interesting to read about.
