It's assumed that all the chemecals that people were eatting is used to break down flesh into the sludge stuff, just like the rats earlier in the season. And yeah, you were correct, that they feel each others pain because of the Mindflayers influence over The Flayed. They're all connected to each other. I can't wait for each episode you put out. Love Strager THings as much as I love Firefly.
