First Time Watching Superman: The Movie!!!

Those files are (somehow) to big to send by email. Trying to find an alternative since dropbox is being weird for you.

Blank EOM

Still no intro or his end wrap-up reaction?

frost1977

So this is the Donner cut? I've seen it, but I was thinking this was the original. I guess i'll pass on this one. I hope you enjoyed it.

Amy Silknitter

Agree. I was 7 when I saw this movie with my best friend in a small town in 1978, sitting in the front row of the theater. No matter how many versions come out in the future, Christopher Reeve is the only Superman for me.

bunnygirl71

Don't remind me of BRAZIL. I've been kicking that around for a while now. Is it JL's kind of weirdness or just mine? I like it but lets be honest, it's at least seven different kinds of "What the ****?"

T.J. Gengler

"I think it's just a thing". What does that mean??I care about George Reeves! You're entitled to your opinion, but don't just disregard George. You might want to "forget" the tv show with George, I DON'T. To this day no one knows whether George died of a self inflicted gun shot, or if he was murdered. At age 45!

Chris Baldwin

I think it's just a thing. Nobody cares about George Reeves - that show was bad and is fairly forgotten. Reeve just feels like a word that should be plural.
If only there were multiple Christopher Reeves (Supe 3, baby!)

yeah, this is what is meant by the movie is made in the editing room. not everything that is shot needs to be in the finished film. This may be the only one ported to blu ray my box set that has the 2000 & theatrical.

frost1977

i think its more of a case of leave ' of the possessive Reeves instead of Reeve's

TJ - there were Superman cartoons made back in the...uh...40's? which are stunningly good. Plot, visuals, acting, animation; shockingly strong.
Forgotten flick: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow was directly based off of them.

Seriously: look em up!

g g gooding

TJ - you're true blue!.
Brazil quote: "We're all in it together!" 💙

g g gooding

Funny that folks call him Reeves, not Reeve - as George Reeves (no relation) first played Supe on screen back in the 50's.

Reeve is Superman. Plain 'n simple. RIP, legend.
A flick he did to counter being typecast as Kal-El was Deathtrap (1982). It's one of the best whodunnits ever and Reeve brilliantly plays a very different role than Supe.

g g gooding

That sounds like a challenge. 🤔🤗

I have mixed feelings about this film. On one hand, I love it uncritically. Every time I watch it, I'm transported back to that 8 year old boy in a small town. This was the very first film I saw in a theater unaccompanied by my parents or an older sibling. Christopher Reeve will always be my SUPERMAN. At the same time, I'm aware that I can't watch it without my nostalgia glasses. It's very much a representation of the gold and silver age Superman from the comics. Parts of the film are cheesier than an ABBA tribute band at the world fondue festival. I see it as part of its charm but that's only my perspective. Thank you JL and Blank for sharing this film with us.

Hey Sally, sorry for just seeing this. If you still need any help, always feel free to drop a comment or message me. Do you need a copy of the green Mile? I still have it somewhere on my computer and can get it to you. Any movie or show you need to watch along, let me know, and I’ll def try to get it to you asap.

Blank EOM

You're entirely welcome. It's all part of the service.

T.J. Gengler

Thank you TJ Gengler for your help, I appreciate it very much.

You are required to have your own copy of the film in question. In your case, you need THE GREEN MILE either as a physical disc 💿 which you can play on a dvd or blu-ray player on you TV. Alternatively, this copy can be from a download or streaming service and watched on your computer. You need to have some means of watching both your copy of the film and JL’s reaction video at the same time. Most desktop computers should easily be able to handle this but my iPad tablet will not play both at the same time. JL will offer cues at the start of his video to help you time sync the recordings.

I joined to watch the full reaction to the green mile "Drogo"!!!!! I'm 72 old Native woman.....HELP please????

I cannot view the movies they're foggy Im new, HELP can somebody send help now? this is day 2 of my membership (Without)

Which edition/cut is this? Where is the best place to purchase a legal download?

T.J. Gengler

This was the only one (weirdly) I could get a copy of. I tried like crazy to get the regular theatrical version, but that 2017 blu ray extended edition was all I could find to use. Def agree on the 2000 version.

Blank EOM

Post as much as you want, homie. You can never post too much.

Blank EOM

OH fyi Richard donner the director of this film also directed goonies and all the lethal weapon films.

frost1977

I know I post a lot on videos i request but i am trying to respond to j's questions and confusion that he asks about during the film.

frost1977

i do think the special edition that came out in 2000 that is a little bit shorter than this is a better version- its the one I was meaning when I requested the , I did not know this 3 hour version existed. lol I wish I had and i could have picked one of the shorter versions. They are better for a first time watch.
