Then the part that tipped it over for me is when he tells her that he can’t make love to her is bc essentially he would be a bad lover. I just felt like he had opportunities to shut that down. Blank said I feel that way because of the copy of the movie I watched. He said it’s another cut of the movie that Leon basically shuts that shit down and let it be known it’s not like that.

2023-02-22 15:25:48 +0000 UTCI agree, Leon was definitely uncomfortable when she was acting all "romantical" with him. Leon was, I think, in his mind more of a big bro or father figure to her. She was an abused child who saw so much sexuality in her household that she probably thought that that was the only way to get anyone to love her.

Rough childhoods with supportive elements missing, can really screw a person up, these issues were probably present before she lost her family. Teen hormones on top of those extreme emotions, with someone who is demonstratively protecting her? Teen crush at its worst. Leon on the other-hand may think of the life he could have had, could have not lived a life of violence, could have gotten himself an education, could have been a dad. I understand why people feel this rubs them the wrong way, but I think they are looking at it through the wrong lens.

In some ways he is just as innocent as her and acts as a big brother, She has a crush on him which is a normal thing for young kids. But he only ever acts as a protector and mentor.
