First Time Watching Airplane!!!!

You mentioned how the actors were able to say their lines with a straight face, so here's the thing - most of the actors and actresses in this movie were well-known dramatic actors who had never done comedy before this movie. When they asked the director how he wanted them to play their characters, he told them to perform it like drama..... just play it straight. The rest is history. They didn't even realize how good their performances were until they attended the premier and saw the crowd reacting. J, you have one of the greatest dramatic pauses I have ever seen. Actually, I was enjoying all of your reactions. Yes, some of the jokes don't age well for younger audiences, such as the Ford and Reagan references (One needed to know them before and during their presidencies, not just after or from textbooks, to really get the jokes). Although this is a classic. Airplane II is actually my favorite, and I hope you get around to reacting to that one. For whatever reason, few have done a reaction to the sequel.

June Cleaver was known as the perfect mom and wife back in my mom’s day. The most wholesome show you can imagine. And completely hilarious to watch now. Wally (The Beav’s older brother) died recently. 😢

I didn’t know who she was but she killed that part lol. In my head I said she look like she belong to the Brady bunch

I think a lot of the topical humor jokes in the film are outdated and many people won't get them. Like, Gerald Ford was the president of the US a few years before this film and the older lady speaking jive was the actress that played the mom in Leave it to Beaver tv show. But it is still a pretty funny film. :)
