I was a hardcore devotee of the first two films...so much so that I was afraid to see the third one when it came out. I was so afraid they were going to ruin the franchise. And although nothing will touch the perfection of T2, I can honestly say that T3 did a good job. New and improved bad guy, lots of over-the-top action scenes, and it pokes just enough fun at itself to make it work. I would wholeheartedly recommend that you watch the third one, but after that, they're all more like stand-alone B-movies with too much money to spend. Watch the third one. You'll get a kick out of it. (Be sure to have Blank explain the ending of the theatrical release of T2: Judgment Day. It's different than the Director's Cut you watched here. If you don't know the difference, T3 won't make any sense.)

I actually think T3 & T4 are worth watching & reacting too, T1&2 reactions are all over youtube, T3 is virtually non existent. T3 wasn't great, but it's better than ppl make it sound, it just can't compare at all to T2, but nothing can. It does a good job of expanding the story & finishing a solid trilogy, the casting is the worst part of the movie, the humor is a bit cheesey, but the story itself is solid, it does a good job of moving the story 10 years further into the internet age. T4 (salvation) is a continuation of that story into the early years of the war against the machines & gives us an AMAZING scene of adult John Connor going up against a T-800 played by a 'roided out Arnold look-a-like, that scene is worth watching the whole movie for lol. Genesis was a failed reboot attempt, we just won't talk about Dark Fate, it was a legendary failure.

2023-01-04 13:39:29 +0000 UTCI can try to shed some light on the “woke” thing, though I think it’s been blown way out of proportion. Re: movies, no one can write a Ripley or a Sarah Connor or a Trinity anymore. Women leads feel really patronizing and unrealistic lately. Prey has better character development than most, but I admit a lot of it made me roll my eyes. Ripley has been my personal hero since 1979 b/c she felt REAL. Her awesomeness wasn’t about being a woman - she was JUST AWESOME. Nothing preachy, no bullshit. Not all female characters are created equally, and it just feels like any woman will do as long as they really emphasize “Hey look - it’s a WOMAN being a badass.” Means nothing without real substance. Prey wasn’t awful. Interesting idea with some cool action, but the characters didn’t feel believable to me.
