I haven't seen this movie since it came out but remember my reaction when I realized it was a modern time because I thought it was Pilgrim times as well. The adults each had a loved one brutally murdered while living in todays society so they created this community for safety. I couldn't live like them either. I love my air conditioner WAY too much lol. We all need an Ivy in our lives. She is one devoted woman in love and she is definitely a keeper.

2023-06-09 22:08:32 +0000 UTCThere's a 70's TV show intended to be the "new" Star Trek (which only had a pilot and was an absolute production-wreck apparently) called Star Lost. Same premise as The Village, except the Amish-esque folk discover that they're on a massive space ship at the end of ep 1 - it makes sense once you know the details. Woulda been a helluva show if only.

2023-06-08 23:58:39 +0000 UTCThis was my pick!! So happy you liked another one of M. Night's films J. Spoiler Alert! Don't read on if you haven't seen the film yet! This is one of those films that makes you look at things from both sides. Was it really fair that the elders raised their kids without the knowledge of the real world causing them to miss out on many experiences and fall prey to curable diseases? Or did they do the right thing by shielding the kids/younger gens from the terrible side of humans and allowing them to maintain an innocence that has been lost in our time? Did humans really have true innocence like in this film ever? Or is this just a controlled experiment that could unravel at some point? It seems that in the film there was that tugging of the thread that could have unraveled the entire thing with Noah committing a potential murder, even though it worked out to some degree. But it makes you wonder how long will they be able to keep this up. I think they had been living like that for only about 25-30 years. I love M. Night films so much! I will be picking another one next month for you J. :)
