The second one is probably closer to what you were expecting (including the red bandana!). Both are excellent and way more profound than the typical “action movie.” The sequel has a monologue that absolutely DESTROYS me. When I was little, there were PSAs on TV about Vietnam vets and the loneliness/hostility they faced when they came home. Basically telling the public not to be complete a-holes to these broken men returning home to nothing. I was probably only 3 or 4, but those PSAs made me so sad. I can’t even imagine what they went through. There and HERE.

2023-03-24 00:19:50 +0000 UTCI don't know exactly what my Dad did Officially he was an electrician stationed in Korea- but i do know he also got pulled to do stuff with the CIA where they could not even wear their dog tags and used Israeli uzi's , he could hit a large ice chest at 1700 yards with an M-14 so i think he also got pulled to do some sniper work- he's never talked about it much. that was in the 60's, he was offered an early discharge and took in by 1970- though he sometimes wishes he had stayed for 20.

2023-03-19 05:05:19 +0000 UTCthis is by far the best of the rambo films, just like Rocky the 1st rocky film actually won best picture at the oscars. Rocky 1-6 as a whole are better films but rambo is still a fun ride.

2023-03-18 22:26:41 +0000 UTCvietnam vets were not treated very good by the "make love not war" types among others, my dad has a lot of hard feelings against those who refused to serve. he spent 4 years in the war. that speech rambo gives at the end vets being spit on called baby killer and all they had to deal with. I am not old enough to know first hand just in what I have read and my Dad has told me of what it was like. If there are any Vets from back then could explain it better.
