In fact, when the movie came out, he did a real tour as Dewey Cox called "Cox Across America." Real physical albums were released as well. The guy at the Lifetime Achievement Awards with the great hair was Eddie Vedder. Lead singer of Pearl Jam.

2023-09-07 19:14:25 +0000 UTCJust some movie/music trivia: When you hear him name drop a bunch of musicians, they are actual people. Though the actor who plays Buddy Holly is a lot shorter than Buddy Holly actually was, lol. The Big Bopper was also mentioned. He and Buddy Holly died in a plane crash along with Ritchie Valens on February 3rd 1959, known as The Day the Music Died. He was doing a pretty spot on impersonation of Bob Dylan, with his deep lyrics and whiny voice. This movie is supposed to be a play on many musical bio pics, not just Johnny Cash. Dewey's style also played on Roy Orbison and I believe Jerry Lee Lewis. In the late sixties when you see him with long hair and the huge orchestra, I call that his Brian Wilson phase, 'cause it plays on the Beach Boys member who kinda had a similar phase, lol. This movie is hilarious. As a side note, I love how you maintain all the female nudity was key to the plot, but when Burt the Roadie made his appearance, the look on your face immediately went to "Now that's just gratuitous." Also key to the plot, J. Just sayin'.
