First Time Watching 1408!!!

First Time Watching 1408 for JL.  Patreon Exclusive.

*Note:  We tried for 2-3 days to get a file for the theatrical version of this, but it wasn't possible to get one to use.  So, this is the director's cut, which IMO has the better ending anyway.    But, if you need a copy, as usual just shoot a message to this account and we'll get it to you ASAP.

First Time Watching 1408!!!

Just a heads up that this one is WAY out of sync. 20 minutes of the movie is about (not exact, I'm going off what J says during the reac) 31:57 minutes on the YT clock, if that helps anyone in the future.

I haven't seen this in forever. He is also good in Identity. I hope you watch that movie one day.

The first ending I saw hit some emotions... the wife seeing that he really did make contact she see their dead daughter. Plus the look on his face... he didn't even have to say anything to her.

Welcome to the family, homie!

This reaction had me laughing so hard I became a member! So this wasn't a Stephen King novel, but rather one of his short stories. I recall it starting with an Author's Note by King that became the monologue Enslin says about hotels being creepy places. The only thing we know about Enslin in the story is that he's a cheap horror writer. Everything about the wife and daughter, the room setting him free only to pull the rug out from under him again, the room absorbing the key, the clock radio playing The Carpenters "We've Only Just Begun", the ledge, the crazy dude with the hammer, the zombie in the ducts, and the scene with the laptop luring his wife to the hotel were all made up for the movie. My friends saw it in the theatre before me and had me read the short story to them in the car while we went on a long drive. It's a really weird story once he gets into the room, as it's him dictating into the recorder all the weird drug-like hallucinations he sees like menus changing language and doors that look crooked one moment and straight the next. I remember something about the floor making smooching noises as he walked upon it, seeming to liquefy like quicksand. It's like the writer of the movie cut out the part of the story that takes place in the room and replaced it with visuals that were far more terrifying. Cusack did an awesome job too. He used to be in a lot of 80s comedies, so it was interesting seeing him do horror and carrying nearly the entire movie by himself. Him and Sam Jackson teamed up again in another Stephen King adaptation called Cell, which got terrible reviews but I kinda enjoyed. Can't wait to see your reaction to Tucker and Dale!

This one screams cult movie!!!

I am pretty sure the iTunes version (in Europe) of this is the OG cut, but I had the Blu-Ray Director's version so could watch along. Movies that need more reactions... Definitely try and watch Fall; came out last year or so. It's great. Also, if you want something lighthearted try the Map of Tiny Perfect Things on Amazon.

My man.... I do not scare like EVER but, I was right there with you in the rear-view mirror shot, damn near greased my cheeks on that one.

So am I. Perhaps we are in the minority. Maybe the buck a month club has the upper hand in the poll's now?? Or, maybe we are too eclectic for the masses? What a waste...

I thought Samuel Jackson was the devil until the end of the movie

Too bad you didn't watch this movie before you made the list of the most petty people because this would be top 5 for sure. I forgot all about this movie and enjoyed watching it again. I like the ending with SLJ is haunted in the car at the end. That just makes more sense.

Miss Gigglebox

kinda sad this won out over Desperado. ahh well.

This is such an underrated gem. Also I love how many Stephen King adaptations have consistently appeared on this channel!
