He was in over 20 Amphibious landing's of Japanese held Island's. Finally being wounded on Saipan, and Discharged Honorably for medical reason's. I think you'll like "Death Hunt". Lee and Charles kind of share the starring role. Let me know if you think it's comparable to the first "John Wick"? One of my top three Marvin role's has to be in "Donovan's Reef". As "Boats" Gillhooley! The fight scene's especially! It's a shame he passed away at only 63, a year younger than I am now, of a massive coronary. He's buried at Arlington Cemetery, showing his rank as PVT. Being "busted" from a Corporal for, let's say, being a handful, even for the Marine's LOL! W.C. Fields had quite a fascination with the English language. Having a few different pseudonym's for his own name. In "It's a Gift", he's listed in the credit's as "Based on a story by Charles Bogle". I admit Fields has a unique sense of humor. Maybe too dry for some. If J had a little more experience with the Fil Noir era, I'd have him watch Steve Martin's film "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid". The way it's edited with original period film scene's is amazing. It was the last film Edith Head worked as the wardrobe coordinator. There's also "Johnny Dangerously". Just to hear "Maroni" butchering swear word's! LOL. "Fargin Icehole"!! Take care G.G. Have a great weekend!.

While I've seen all (and own most) of the movies you've suggested: somehow I've never even heard of Death Hunt! Looking it up...aside from Chuck and Carl and Angie, it cosstars Lee! Lee's easily one of fav actors of all time! Im ordering a copy now! Thanks for that! 2 Marvin movies that if you don't know of: run don't walk to see Point Blank (67) and Prime Cut (72). The trailers don't spoil (maybe a tiny bit), fyi. You might be interested in In Praise of Shadows channel. Deep dives into the history of horror films. The one on the misbegotten production of Nothing But Trouble is fascinating. Ever seen Michael Mann's The Keep? He's embarrassed by it (production fell apart, apparently). Its...VERY weird. Helluva cast. Its not good, but it certainly ain't boring. Thank you choosing the theatrical of Apocalypse. As much as I love it...the directors was more than I wanted. It will be fun to see if JL rec's the Coo-coo's cast. Frank, Chuck, Doc, train-ghost, etc. (That should be opaque enough that if he reads this [ha! Never happen!] it shouldn't spoil nuthin.) And I'll close with 2 more recs based on what you seem to dig. Miller's Crossing 1990 (imagine you've seen? My fav Coen Bro film about 20's gangsters) and Free Fire 2016 which is a gun deal gone sour in the 1970's. (Trailer slightly spoils a couple minor jokes, but check it out if you're on the fence about seeing it. Director Ben Wheatley is someone I think you'd be into.) Later, brother!

Mike and J are very good people and they've been nothing but the best to me. And, not only me, everyone who's a Patron and subscriber to the channel. It also gives me something to look forward to. Like you said "Kick ass"!! I'm flattered that you enjoy my pick's each month. As far as my taste in film's, It ranges from W.C. Fields "It's a Gift" to Sam Peckinpah's "The Wild Bunch". For October I chose "Apocalypse Now", the theatrical cut. For a first time watch, there was no reason to subject J to the FIVE hour director's cut. LOL Coming soon I'd like to have J watch the Charles Bronson film "Death Hunt". Its along the lines of the first "John Wick". Plus a surprise actor for J named Carl. You know who. LOL Other's on the short list are: "The Grapes of Wrath"-set in the Great Depression, with Henry Fonda, John Carradine and Jane Darwell, who looks just like my Grandma did. I miss her... "Collateral" - another Michael Mann film. Very 1980's TV, "Miami Vice" "The Angriest Man in Brooklyn" - the last film released while Robin Williams was still alive. It's oddly prophetic, considering. Fafafafa...Fugitsu!! LOL "Nothing But Trouble" - it's "quirky" like "Death to Smoochy" and has a great Cameo in it. You probably know who I mean. LOL "Frank Millers: Sin City"- some great Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis (RIP) and many more. Madsen's performance is kind of blah though. "Unleashed"-some hardcore Jet Li action and Morgan Freeman. Can't lose! "The Wrestler"- Mickey Rourke and Marisa Tomei (Oscar Nominated). Said to be a nod to Jake the Snake. Mickey was 56 when made, and did all his own stunt's. Impressive!!! "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford". The closest true telling of Jesse's fate made. Brad Pitt; Casey Affleck and Sam Rockwell! I like "My Darling Clementine", but it's not very close to history. I have a few Newspaper's from 1881 and 82 describing the exact event's shown on screen in "The Assass.". I know it's slower paced, but the acting is above par! I'll close with "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest"-Just to see if J recognizes a few the co-star's. One short one, and one tall one in particular from other film's he's watched here. Take care my man. See you in the funny paper's! LOL

Not just in the literal sense cause we all know there are places in this world where people do not have freedom... but when it comes to what we should like and what we shouldn't like, and you can boil that down to anything from a movie to a life partner. This is human behavior that I just cannot, for life of me, understand why we cant get past as a species. It's greatly disappointing. People just need to let people find their own happiness in this short existence and stop hurting each other.

I Pray for your mother and I support the channel. even though there are movies that I don't like the movie or if there is content or something I am not bringing into my home - 99% of those i just don't watch the reaction unless it is 1. something where i am passionate about it like with Star Wars. or 2 if it's a film i haven't seen and i watch it with JL's reaction for the first time i am not going to say i liked the movie if I did not. when we get into the Disney trilogy i do have a lot of criticism about those films, but that is directed at the films and to an extent the filmmakers. Thankfully the mandoverse Jon & Dave provide some hope of fixing some things. I understand there are those who do like those 3 films and i can support their right to do so as long as they understand that people have a right to not like them for reasons that a true to how they feel all art including movies is Subjective. THe problem is most people don't know how to discuss a movie without attacking people who disagree with them there is toxic behavior on both sides which can include calling people haters because they don't like a film that i do. I get attacked all the time on FB when i say I like the theatrical version of Justice League more than i do the snyder cut. there are some toxic reasons for liking or not liking a film as well. I saw Boyz in the Hood in theaters, its been long enough that I don't remember much about it other than it had a lot of pottymouth and I did not enjoy the film i was still in JR high when i saw it, and it was probably because of Cuba Gooding & Laurence Fishburn that i went to see it. I don't remember any of the scenes only as i said that i came out of the theater not liking the movie. Prayers that the Lord will help you and your mother.

It's been 6 year's since they took out my Lung, so I'm a "success". I'm like most people, and afraid of dying. But, I take it one day at a time. Thank you both for your kindness. Of course it's not my genre I'm not a little girl dressed in pink, but there were some good lessons in it too. Maybe that's why the haters don't want to watch it cuz they might learn something to cure their hatred for themselves and others. Cuz if you hate everybody else that bad, that's like carrying around poison drinking it yourself. It's a crazy situation. Thanks for all the good you do brother! 2023-09-21 19:40:36 +0000 UTCJ, I can't say I know how you feel about what's going on with your Momma. All I know is how she feels. July 31st, 2013, I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgekins Lymphoma. Two day's after Christmas that year my Spleen was removed. I went in remission until late in 2016. So, starting in January 2017, I started six month's of Chemotherapy. Two day's in the chair, six hour's each day, every month, hooked intravenously. In July that year they did a PET Scan to see if the Lymphoma was gone. The good news, they had gotten the Lymphoma, BUT I had Lung Cancer. So, on Friday the 13th of 2017, they removed my Left Superior Lung. The Surgeon told me after she had removed the Lung, she saw that the Cancer had migrated to my inner chest wall, She said they had to remove an area of about a square foot. So as of today I'm currently in remission from two Cancer's. The icing on top is I have had to be Catheterized twice. The first on March 1st, 2010, at which time they implanted three Stent's. Then half way through my Chemo, came the second time, whereupon they put in six more Stent's. I don't have any real family left. My Mom died in 2003 of a Heart attack. This Patreon channel is all the family I have left. That's why for almost a year now I've been a "Murder Whistle" Patron. You can't imagine how much joy it brings me. Mike and yourself have been very kind to me. That's all I have to say. Thank you and Mike for everything! Give Momma a hug from me when you see her. Tell her she is in my thought's and prayer's. And you J, stay just the way you are. We like you that way!

I know you're a grown man who can take care of himself, but this flips the Mama Bear mode switch in me and I want to unleash all 120 pounds of my fury on someone. J, I know that you and Blank already know this, but it bears repeating: I LOVE YOU AND YOUR FAM LOVES YOU. You have the ability to bring more happiness to viewers in 45 minutes of a reaction video than they may experience in an entire month. You are such a ray of positivity, and I am so GRATEFUL to have found your channel. This is a constant theme I've seen many, many times: the wider someone's positive influence spreads, the more hateful people feel justified in launching public attacks. I know of very goodhearted, creative people who stop producing content or stop sharing it altogether because of hateful remarks that people made. If it's any consolation, it's actually a sign that you are making a difference with your job. You and Blank (and Sean behind the cameras) are all VERY GOOD DUDES. There are countless miserable, angry people in the world who have nothing better to do than fabricate drama because their own pathetic lives are devoid of purpose, and they are are jealous. This is YOUR channel and YOUR Patreon, and you have the right to ban anyone you want. This is not some free-for-all for hateful speech, or some open forum where people can drop judgment. I'm not gonna tell you not to let it bother you, because at the end of the day, you're a human being with emotions. But just know there are WAY MORE people who appreciate your well-roundedness. And I will personally try to be better about at least dropping a like or letting a video run even if I don't watch (funny you mentioned horror, cuz I'm one of those people, LOL). If you're watching something I am not interested in or familiar with you probably don't even see me in the comment section. If you do see a comment, it's never negative about the movies you're watching, it's probably just a random comment about something else. The internet breeds people like this, because they're anonymous. They hide behind their computer screens and spout hate. I know it's often easier said than done, but don't pay 'em no mind. I'm going to tune in as long as you decide to keep doing this. I'm looking forward to Boyz n the Hood and I'm supporting you through the dark parts of it from as far away as I am, lol. You need to watch it for no other reason than Cuba Gooding Jr's overacted freak out in the middle of the movie 😆 And someone did mention the Wayans spoof Don't Be a Menace as a watch. Their take on that scene is one of the funniest parts of that movie.
