2023 Week 42 Poll: JLoween Poll #1 - Classic Horror Poll!!!

What is up peeps. It's FINALLY that time of year again.   Time for orange leaves, black cats, and snow white Murder Whistle beards.    It's time, once again....for JLoween.

This will be the first of three polls going up for JLoween, and this one is all about the classics.   And, since these are the types of movies J needs as little context as possible, please....NO COMMENTS ABOUT ANYTHING ABOUT THE MOVIES.   Please, no "wait til he sees this" or "I can't wait til he gets to that part", or any of that.   Comments last year about The Thing and Hereditary made him aware of some things to expect, and I want to avoid that this year.   So please, NOTHING that will give him any hints about anything regarding ANYTHING in the comments for any JLoween movie.  Any comments I think might remotely make him perk his ears up, I'm just going to delete.   Let's keep it 1000% spoiler and hint free down in the comments.

As usual, this poll runs for a week.   So, get those votes in and let's see what is gonna kick off JLoween with Mr. Voorhees in a couple of weeks.

Comments

Used to watch this with my dad 🀘

Dillon Pillman

Without spoiling anything, just saying, you can skip Evil Dead (1981) and watch Evil Dead 2 (1987). I'm not trying to speak for everyone, but I suspect a lot of folks get the two mixed up.

Michelle β€œMimi” Lancaster

"Carrie", for sure. I've been watching it every Halloween for 30 years.

M CM

76 Carrie is so good, and has held up really well. I don't 'dislike' the remake but would pick the original every time if given the choice. Never got on with Evil Dead.

AdrianF

Voting for 'Carrie'. It's a halloween classic. If able two classic old halloween movies I'd like to recommend are 'Freaks' (1932) and 'Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?' (1962). Both are quite interesting. But I'm hoping that 'Labyrinth' and 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape?' will be watched soon. And that 'Carrie' wins this poll. (So far no) lol

Sabbato_Puella

RRR (2022)

YoureMrLebowski

J about to be a wholeass Santa Claus lol (we’re sorry, J - we love you ☺️)

Kim

β€œSnow white murder whistle beards” πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

CordlessRevamp

I could only imagine the reaction he would have to Carrie when they are at the prom lol

REALysticMystic

It is definitely a fun flick

Miss Gigglebox

Sadly, those that will like Hubie Halloween is a small group (I'm definitely one, though.). Hell, I doubt that most people will even give it a chance, writing it off as just another movie of Adam Sandler being Adam Sandler (which isn't too far off, but it totally works here). Fun flick, though.

Aceldamia

Man.... when you think there is only one obvious answer and over 80% of voters disagree with you...

Aceldamia

All of them, obviously. Cannot wait.

Evakatrina Anderson

I wish I could vote more than once lol

LeSheezy

YES !!! Both of those 1976 films are amazing in their own way. Both beautifully shot with love and care in creating tones that suck you in completely.

Hot Indie Media

YAY! So happy to see that The Omen (1976) is getting some additional votes :-) I know it may not win, but hope it at least gets a decent vote percentage.

Hot Indie Media

JLoween is going to be so awesome. I hope J watches all those movies.

Gengar

Hellraiser is my favoritest movie ever!

Gunther Andross

Evil Dead is just kinda... idk.. alittle silly TBH. Never got into Hellraiser or The Omen. Cujo was a Stephen King novel and the movie itself is a bit scary and almost traumatizing in a way with the amount of screaming. Definitely worth the watch!

β˜†C~H~A~N~D~L~E~Rβ˜†

Oh please, please Cujo!!!

Heather

Full Metal Jacket (1987) cause Pyle was super scary.

YoureMrLebowski

Yall Cujo has to be watched.

Brandon Ross

Dude, you just opened up a rotten-ass can of worms the minute you offered up THE EVIL DEAD.

Philip Davetas

I said the same thing.

Robert Sackrider

He definitely wouldn’t like my Cujo vs Benji script.

Manospondylus

I've seen all these n while I love Cujo more than Carrie I have to vote for Hellraiser. How can you see Voorhees n Freddy without giving love to my man Pinhead. Plus the practical effects hold up to this day. A true Halloween delight!

Corey

he has to watch CuJo...he loves dogs imagine what he would say about this dog

Julie W

That's not what I meant by "key to the plot" man

Renee S

Try pulling her hair, or slappin her ass.

Mind ConTroll

These are all so good that its difficult to choose, but I chose my girl Carrie.

Dernhelm

The Omen (1976) was my vote on this one. It's a master class in film making!

Hot Indie Media

Can we get Carrie to come from behind? It's way more classic and there's so much that's key to the plot, lol

Renee S

Evil Dead πŸ’œ

Jenny Lee Villanueva

But Cujo is so perfect for J!

Cristina Marshal

Here in Texas is still hot as Fu...!!!

Big Frank

Man, this is a hard poll to choose from. I'm hoping he will watch Hubie Halloween with Adam Sandler. I think it's my new favorite Halloween movie. 🀞

Miss Gigglebox

So tempted by Hellraiser, but had to go with Evil Dead - classic!

Beornigan

Yet another brutal poll lololol

Webwyrm

The Evil Dead is the correct choice here. πŸ˜‰
