2023-10-29 23:57:12 +0000 UTCThere are 5 different cut's of this film. The directors cut is FIVE HOUR'S long!! So, be glad I asked Blank to just do the theatrical cut. LOL In other cut's there are scene's like the Playboy bunny HUEY (yes, it's a helicopter) having crashed and they all get to spend time with the Bunny's. There is another scene where they come across a French family still living in the jungle. You see, the French tried to Colonize Vietnam in the 1950's. The United States sent advisory troop's, mostly Green Beret's and the C.I.A., in 1955. It wasn't until President Kennedy was assassinated, that Lyndon Johnson escalated everything in 1964. Sending hundred's of thousand's of troop's there. Nixon withdrew the final troop's out in November, 1974. The War Department did away with the Draft in 1975. I joined the Army in 1977. I'm glad you got to see this legendary film.

2023-10-29 18:11:19 +0000 UTCYou have to understand that this film was released only FIVE year's after the war in Vietnam ended. It is made as an anti Vietnam film. It's 52 minutes in, and J hasn't even recognized Laurence Fishburn as "Mr. Clean. LOL
