Was a pilot in World War 2 in a Bombardment Squadron. Was nominated 5 times for best actor (won once) for the Oscar and in 80 movies from 1935-1991. I hope you get to enjoy some of his other movies like Rear Window, Vertigo, The Man That Knew Too Much and others. Great reaction, I was crying along with you at the end.

2024-12-16 06:22:30 +0000 UTCI can say with no exaggeration that I feel this is the best movie ever made (I have a different movie that is my favorite movie, but this is the "best" for me). I literally watch it year-round. So glad you enjoyed it. I was really glad when I saw that you were reacting to this. Though I also was a bit worried. It is a movie that I hold in such high regard, I don't want to see people think it's only "okay." There is also the concern that, well to be blunt, George can be an absolute asshole at times and be off-putting. But in the big scheme of things, it all works. As for if it's a Christmas movie or not, I'm really fine either way. I think it is one, but I totally get the justification to say it isn't one. Oh, and in today's money, the $8,000 would be around $117,000.

It embodies the spirit to me but I totally understand you saying it's not. This movie was also banned due to having "communist elements."

Ptsd thats including james stewart himself. The scenes of him crying and shaking in this film were legit not acting.
