PICARD s1e6 HAILS “The Impossible Box”

Shoot 'em over and we'll make them priority one!

I like it. 100% they created the Borg.

Re: Picard Episode 6 "The Impossible Box": I really enjoyed the moments with Hugh and Picard. Picard tells Hugh things don't need to be perfect, and good is good enough. I can't help but think this is Picard reflecting on his own struggle of the perfect being the enemy of the good. Moreover, I love Hugh's subtle appeal to Picard to be the voice of the Borg again, or at least, the voice of free XBs -- not as Locutus, but as Picard, XB himself -- struggling with this duality and being a victim. Keep up the great podcast work, gentleman!

Bret Scofield

Hi guys, have you had a chance to listen to the official CBS podcast? It’s a bit of a love fest, understandable, but it does provide some insight I think into some of the issues that have bumped so many fans, including myself. Goldsman / Kurtsman et al have said: (1) Episodes 1-3 were supposed to just be 2, they added the third late on including the flashbacks etc. Explains the slow pacing / minimal story development. They said it was because they realised people needed to see the mars attack etc. Weird decision! (2) they frequently comment that “good sci-fi is about current issues, told in the future with a different spin” (paraphrased). I think that’s true for some shows but not for Star Trek. What made Star Trek different was that it ignored current strifes and allowed the viewer to become immersed in a aspiration vision of the future - it was like a comfortable, warm place we could escape to. No longer - it’s now all about current inequalities / drug addiction etc - there’s no where to run to anymore except old Trek, if we need a break from the world! Anyway I’m enjoying your analyses and your increased output from my favourite podcast. Thanks guys keep up the good work. Cheers Luke PS - prediction - the romulan’s deep dark secret, the reason they fear A.I. - they created the Borg.
