Regarding the long discussion on the metaphor of "The other" in on the Andorrian Episode, One of the most interesting things about Enterprise is that the species that are their enemies, change thier stance toward humanity. Early on in the series they are rivals and enemies, even the Vulcans are frenemies. In all trek forward in the time line the enemy stays the enemy. Cardassians, Romulans, Ferengi, Dominion, they all remain hostile. If peace is achieved, they stay the bad guys. Even the Klingons are rivals and sometimes outright go to war with the federation. Enterprise is the only series where their rivals become their friends. Speaking, in genral, only of major players, not a episodical villian species of the week. It is why Archer is canonically considered one of the best captains in starfleet history. He was a warrior diplomat that actually changed the face of the Galaxy. Even though future captains like Picard are known to be great diplomats it is always with minor species when he is most successful. Janeway had the most first contacts, but obviously they didn't all go well. She messed up one interaction by putting her hand on her hip afterall!

Recently joining the president's circle (Membership has it's privileges) I'm catching up on the backlog of paywall content. I had to drive from Austin to Houston today and thought i'd load up the enterprise for the round trip. I enjoyed them, but kept wishing I had my laptop to pull over and pound out thoughts and non spoiler answers to questions. Now I know what it feels like to be Matt having all this Star Trek knowledge and being unable to share it with Andy, Or pedantically correct correct Andy. Matt you have the will power of a Klingon being stabbed by painsticks, or as it's also known, a Klingon Bar mitzvah.)
