One of the most boring episodes in the history of trek. Nothing happens. Btw, where is this weeks episode?
2020-11-15 15:57:45 +0000 UTCthe ship time is not arbitrary. It's like a long flight that travels through several time zones. You maintain the time schedule from your departure point. They don't serve breakfast and then cross the international date line and suddenly start serving dinner. I think the starship operates in the same way, only instead of a 24 hour flight where the ship time ends at your destination, the arrival point isn't until the end of the mission of the Enterprise years after departure. There have also been several points in the series where they went through some kind of time distortion and then called out to a subspace buoy to realign their clocks, so I think they do maintain sync with Earth.
