That was Star Trek 6 The Undiscovered Country. Also it makes sense for Padma to be strong. She comes from the planet of the perfect mates and so there most be a good bit of evolutionary advantage to being strong resilient and having stamina.

I did my dissertation on sharkploitation movies so I think the acting is fine. (Ghost Shark, Shark Night 3D and Deep Blue Sea are the peaks of sharkploitation for context) I also love this episode. I know it is terrible but this is an erotica without the porn. Which isn't really a complement but if you like the plot of a bad erotica without any of the sex scenes you might like it. There I did my funnies. Now to get off topic and serious. Andy was wondering about the distinction between emotional displays and having emotions, well this is why I get so emotional about the issue of Data having emotions. I am autistic and it partly manifests for me in not having great control over my body language. I have been in situations where I feel one way and people react to the emotion they think I am feeling. If you want to know what the difference would mean practically as a neurotypical person then consider this analogy. You have two distinct ways you react to temperature. There is the physical biological reaction, When it's cold your hairs stand up and blood is focused on your internal organs. When it's hot blood flows to your extremities. Then there is the cognitive reaction. You feel cold, you feel hot. To me Data is the equivalent of someone who no longer feels hot or cold but whose body still reacts to heat or cold. You might argue that there is no distinction but if you can't feel that it's freezing you can go out in snow wearing nothing but underwear. Where it gets more complicated with Data is he desperately wants to be human and act like he has emotions and he is also smart enough to cognitively know he should try to protect his emotions even if he doesn't have them because the things that would make him upset are things that have objective value outside of emotions. i.e. He thinks Geordie provides ideas that help him achieve his objectives and Geordie has shown repeatedly that he will go to great lengths to help Data thus harm to him would hinder Data's access to such things. Data is thus like a man who sweats when it's hot, whose hair stands on end when it is cold and who takes pains to wrap up warm when its cold and cool himself when its hot, all the while trying to remind everyone that as much as he would like to he cannot feel if he is hot or cold. So to be clear I understand why you both and so many other people insist that it's absurdly obvious that Data has emotions. After all the only reason not to think he has emotions is the character of Data insisting repeatedly that he has no emotions and who would ever be so daft as to listen to what a person is saying about their own perceptual experiences? I don't mean to rehash the topic and you really don't need to read this out but Andy seemed genuinely to not understand what I meant so I wanted to try and explain. Even if you don't agree can you at least understand the perspective I am trying to get across?

It was in "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country".

In regards to Trip being weak & Padma being strong: I took it as she knew the anatomy of the bad guy's species. Maybe he didn't have any sensitive parts in the face, which is why he laughed, but the back of the head was the equivalent of the temple. Like whatever episode it was that mentioned not everyone keeps their genitals in the same place.
