It's slowly changing but in Sweden it's pretty much reefer madness governing the entire thought process in the powers that be. We're a pretty naive country as a whole so the lobbyists have had a field day with us throughout the years in the case of weed. It will change but it will take a long time. We're very big on alcohol here and I'm convinced legal and regulated sale of weed would be good for public health. Seems more and more evidence is pointing towards excessive consumption of weed not being all that good for you but no one can disagree that it's a hell of a lot better than alcohol.
But personally I never touch weed or mushrooms or anything, it's not worth it. It's so illegal here you'd more or less risk your livelihood, and even with weed the police are very actively enforcing the laws.
