By the way, amon is one of the most powerful benders in avatar if he decided to kill I don't think their would be anyone who could stop him but the avatar only bc of the avatar state. He is a water-bending master we just didn't get to see him use it so he didn't have to run away he could have beaten them but he didn't want to win a fight he wanted to destroy bending so him being outed ruined his goal. he could also kill everyone instead of taking their bending but he didn't want to kill. With blood bending you can literally stop the heart from beating instantly killing them right away if he wanted to the avatar would've died when they first met so he wasn't a horrible guy like Ozai who was just pure evil. He stood by his code of no killing also his people didn't kill not one bender they only hated bending not people he felt the everyone should be on equal footing and not have the power to do what he's been able to do and also a lot of people assumed that after he took away everyone bending he would have took his own away bc he hated that he had bending.
