The first is something I need to go back and edit. As for the Skybound, it's a tradition created by the nobles, only the commoners, who are rare in number (we find out later), need to do this as a graduation ceremony.

2025-01-05 12:35:15 +0000 UTCAs much as I love the story, the completely unsustainable societies are hard to justify. First the sect sending 99% of each generation to work in the stables. Cheesy. Now we have an even less believable society of serial killers, most of whom burst into crystal and the remaining few are left to slaughter everyone else... except there really wouldn't be much of anyone to slaughter at this point. Do they spawn thousands of babies at a time? Crossing my fingers that the societies start to seem sustainable at some point.
