The Collector really has a deathwish. Aiming for Protagonists is like kicking a caged tiger. Except that the tiger can outrun a formula 1 car and tear apart adamantium with its claws. Its monumentally stupid, shortsighted and exceedingly arrogant. If I had to guess, he is literally destined to die, nothing more but an early villain and stepping stone for an actual capital P Protagonist

Even though he challenges Ke Yin for "face", Ke Yin will probably survive with his life and cultivation intact. I hope Wu Kangming can escape the Collector's puppets. And in doing so becomes a more 3 dimensional character.
