2024-11-07 04:50:23 +0000 UTCI will say, in the Percy Jackson version of Hades, he’s actually not the bad guy. In the first book he’s assumed to be the one who stole the lightning bolt, but it’s revealed to be Kronos. Hades ends up just being the reserved uncle for most of the series, and eventually gets brought back into the group. So Percy Jackson is actually a story where he’s not the villain.

When you sing during reactions, it's always a treat. I feel bad for Hades and Pers. He longs for her love, so he's a workaholic. She longs for his love, so she self-medicates and grumps around, whether they're parted or together.

You will also get to see an incredibly unhinged Zeus (played by Jeff Goldblum). Just..trigger warning in the last episode involving a cat-luckily you don't see what happened, you just know. :(

We know they existed because of references in Roman and medieval writings, but those crumbs are all we have—to say nothing of potential lost meaning by way of translation, which is always subject to the ideals and mores of the translator’s society. There are some things (many things) that we can never know; at a certain point we only have speculations.

2024-10-16 17:39:08 +0000 UTCAnais Mitchell talked about Orpheus singing so high because of his divine inspiration, while Hades is a bass because she felt he should have a "subterranean" voice. EXCELLENT catch re: the parallels between Chant and Wedding Song. It's even a version of the same melody. How "bad" Hades is really depends on the actor. Patrick Page plays him with such a keen pain, it's hard to see him as a bad guy. Regardless of interpretation, he's like...Wife Guy to a fault.

2024-10-16 17:15:28 +0000 UTCalso damn the reaction to Hades' voice did NOT disappoint. >:3 But yeah, I think Eurydice's "kinda makes you wonder how it feels" - Hades has everything he needs and runs the show and doesn't have to scrimp and suffer the way she has her whole life. What she wants so bad is to have stability and safety. If you'd never had that, I can believe you'd wonder how it feels to be the big boss.

2024-10-16 12:11:09 +0000 UTCI don't know how often you see comments, but if you want to see a positive depiction of Hades (and his relationship with Persephone), I highly recommend KAOS on Netflix. They're not the main characters, but they show up multiple times, and the show is an incredible (modern) portrayal of the gods.
