2024-08-02 22:47:30 +0000 UTCThere's a youtuber, Howard Ho, who does really in-depth breakdowns of the musicality of the songs of Six (well, most of them so far, he's working his way through) form a composition/chord progression perspective, and I think you'd find it really interesting. BIG WARNGING though: don't watch until you're all the way through the show, since he will occasionally reference other songs/moments in the musical to build his point in any particular video. he also has a whole series doing the same thing for Hamilton, once you're through that show, that may be interesting as well. not for a reaction, necessarily, but just for some really cool insight.

2024-08-02 02:50:13 +0000 UTCthe DEAD SILENCE after Anne says *that line* 😂 this is definitely one of the most fun songs from SIX, imo! very enjoyable to sing along to and super catchy 😁

2024-08-02 02:14:50 +0000 UTCAlso fun fact. The “ladies in waiting” aka the instrumentalists are named after some of the queens actual ladies in waiting (from what I’ve seen on some live versions it doesn’t matter if said instrumentalist is a guy they just get introduced by these names every time.) Maggie — Guitar Bessie — Bass Joan — Keyboard Maria — Drums

2024-08-02 02:10:41 +0000 UTCThe chord progression probably sounds familiar because each queen’s style is based on a popular singer in modern day. I forget who Anne’s is but you might be thinking of the music from who she’s referencing.

2024-08-02 01:43:33 +0000 UTCYeee my friend learned French as was super confused on why it was “ready to eat” and then we realized the innuendo XD

2024-08-02 01:42:08 +0000 UTCJust call me next time you a need translation lmao So yeah "prêt-à-manger" here stands for "ready to be eaten" but it also means "ready to eat" if you write it "prête à manger" so it is could be a sort of double lyricism in a sense. As for the covered basket at the end of the animatic, this is where the head would fall when the person was beheaded. Also I know I was supposed to go to sleep, don't come at me please TT
