Morcant's Brood, and June's Miniatures...

The awesomeness of the marchomawr cogwyferniau* (try saying that with your mouth full) is finally unveiled! It's taken a little while this month, and thank you all for your forbearance, but we always get there in the end.

*mark-OH-mow(as in how)-er ko-gwi-VERN-i-a

Morcant's Brood is now uploaded to MyAirBridge link and to MMF, and take note - the unit has five warriors, but only three cogwyferniau. That's because two of the warriors are alternates of the banner bearer and herald, so they go on the same cogwyfern.

MIERCENARY and SELL-SWORD

June's battle host is for the Byzantii Legio II Var, based around the incredible new legionarius contubernia, armed with spatha or pila, ably supported by the new centurion (Equitus Durio), option (Quintus Crito) and a totally new unit of gladiators riding lions. Yes, you read that right!

You'll get:

• Equitus Durio, Centurion on foot and on horse (bare head / helmed head; spatha / hasta; scutum / parma variants)

• Malus of Antioch, Magus Infernum Primus

• Fiery Malus, Magus Infernum Primus

• Quintus Crito, Option (bare head / helmed head; scutum / parma variants)

• Arcus Quintus, Option (bare head / helmed head variants)

• Agathae, Signifer (bare head / fiend helmed head variants)

• Con I Modius, Spatha Legionarius Contubernium (8x warriors)

• Con I Modius, Pila Legionarius Contubernium (8x warriors)

• Tor I Italus, Ballista Tormentum

• Lud I Crixus, Gladiator Ludus (3x warriors on foot)

• Lud I Crixus, Leo Gladiator Ludus (3x warriors on leonis)

Not shown in the image above is the leo gladiator unit, which we are very excited about; we won't have the final sculpts of those until mid-June, simply because I am on holiday for the first two weeks of the month. I should be able to show you the lions before then, however. Note that they are gladiators, not myrmillos or retiarii - they have shield, sword, manicle and helm.

Loyalty Reward

The loyalty reward is very special - it's Spartakus!

• Spartakus, Gladiator Primus on foot and on leonis (bare head / helmed head variants)

• Sia, Leonis of Kyrene

Rumours of the bare head looking a little like a certain film star are entirely true.

BEASTMASTER

The BEASTMASTER tier will get a nice Byzantii monster this month... Estus the bicorniger! He's just about sculpted so you'll see him next week when I do another update.

WARLORD

First of all, a reminder: the WARLORD tier early bird will end on 31st of May, so be quick if you want to join it at £99.99 - it goes up to £129.99 after that!

You will of course get all of the miniatures in the battle host above, although you will probably only get options for the nobles rather than two miniatures (so for each Quintus, one body and two heads); you will get two contubernia of each legionarius type though.

Holidays!

So yes, I will be on holiday in the first two weeks of June, so don't expect much from me at that point - I should be able to get June's release sorted before I go away.
