If the trainee wants to leave the company, depending on the trainee contract they signed, usually they're allowed to leave and do whatever they want but I have heard that some companies require them to pay off the debt they racked up while they were there. If the company is the one that decides to let the trainee go, they usually don't have to pay a debt and are free to do whatever they want afterwards. There are MANY idols who have debuted under certain companies but spent time training at other companies, like Ravn from Oneus for example. Oneus is a boy group under RBW Entertainment and Ravn is one of the members who is known to have trained at all big three companies SM, JYP and YG before landing in RBW and debuting. A.C.E is a 5 member boy group made up completely of trainees from different companies. An employee at CJ E&M entertainment decided she wanted to make her own company so she took three of the top trainees with her and then two trainees from JYP were introduced to her and the company by a trainer at JYP. So i've never heard of a company holding back trainees from going to other companies after leaving or being cut out but I guess they could possibly "black ball" a trainee if something serious happened to where no other company wants to accept them but i've never heard of a case like that with trainees.
