As many of you know, MY BOYFRIEND IS A SUPERHERO has reached its grand finale! Issue #5 is now available from Class Comics on Just for Fans, and I'll admit, I'm feeling a bit heartbroken.
We hadn't planned to end the series here, but ALEXANDER needs to take a break from art for personal reasons. I totally respect his decision, and I'm so grateful for the incredible journey we shared creating these five issues. We both grew so muchโhim as an artist, and me as a writer. BYRON and FELIX hold such a special place in our hearts, and though ending the series wasn't easy, it felt like the right time to say goodbyeโฆ at least for now.
This brings me to something I've been pondering: Would you be interested in a MY BOYFRIEND IS A SUPERHERO annual that I write AND illustrate myself?
I still have so many stories to tell about BYRON and FELIX! With BRIGAYDE also concluding, their journey is about to take a whole new direction, and I'm excited to explore it.
I've always thought of our initial run as "Season One." A "Season Two," though perhaps visually different, would continue to follow the adventures of these beloved characters. Change can be scary, especially when it comes to a new artist for a beloved comic. But you know me, and how much I adore these characters. I promise to pour my heart and soul into bringing their adventures to life.
So, what do you think? I'm truly curious about your thoughts on me taking over the art, and about the future of the series in general. You guys are my creative compass, and your feedback means the world to me.

I just really love what I do and the characters I've created... most of all, I love sharing all of that with you guys. I think that I'd have a really fantastic time drawing MBIAS. So we'll see... but I'm definitely leaning towards doing it. As for uploading my older material, there are a number of reasons why a lot of it's not up yet. Since Class was forced to shut down it's shop last December, it's been trying to find a balance between creating new material AND uploading the old stuff on our Just for Fans pages. It doesn't sound like a lot of work, but believe me, it really is! LOL! We're currently looking at how to get our printed comics back up for sale, as well. Amazon takes a massive cut, and at the end of the day, it leaves us out of pocket... so that's not quite the solution, but we're hoping that with JFF and even maybe Patreon, we can find a way to make both print and digital more widely available again. I really do wish more of your older works were available somewhere, Amazon or anywhere really. Is there some sort of issue where uploading it is not profitable enough to make it worth your while? Raise the price to a happy medium to make it worth your while, my good man. There is absolutely a market for it. Thanks for all that you do.

New characters I've been meaning to introduce, new series I've been thinking of trying... but there's also a near irresistable pull toward Felix and Byron... Like I feel that my time telling their stories hasn't actually ended and like I'm driven to tell more. In a way, I guess you could say that they're speaking to me the very loudest, right now. But I appreciated what you said about being along for the ride. It's a wonderful compliment actually, which tells me that no matter what I draw, you guys are here to support and encourage, and I'm deeply grateful for that! Those 13 episodes were magical moments for me in my career, I have to say. He's a wonderful art and a wonderful friend. I'll miss creating with him very much. When one thing ends, it allows for the growth of something new. I'm certainly happy to see an Annual of this series as it continues, but I'm happy to see any of your art, as your art is meant to be your exhibition, and we just get to enjoy the ride. That said, I really hope whatever you decide, we get to embark on the journey with you as you continue. My vote is more of an abstention, since I think we'll love and enjoy whatever you make.

I've loved following this series and while I'm sad to see it end, I'm glad to hear that you two are so happy with how your collaboration turned out <3. Secondly, you helming a new series for Felix and Byron? Sign me UP!! Your deleted scenes in the Off The Books series have been so damn hot and fun, I'd absolutely love to see you tackle a new project for these two studs. Hearing you talk about all these new story ideas has me so excited, definitely got my fingers crossed that we'll get to see them!!

In fact, including the three Halloween episodes, we did a total of 13 12-page (two having a few more pages than that) short stories with Byron and Felix together, and we've both loved every panel. 13 episodes is certainly nothing to balk at, either! Alexander was heartbroken at having to move on, but that's life sometimes. We just have to be appreciative of what we've done and what we've got and be grateful for the pleasure and happiness it brought us. As an artist, he really was a dream partner... much the way that David Cantero was. I coulda kept working with both of them for years and years. But I also know that life sometimes has other plans, and you don't always wanna, but sometimes, you gotta move on. I developed a wonderful friendship and working partnership with Alexander. I will miss working with him very much, but we remain fast friends... and he's excited and supportive about Byron and Felix living on in other ways, and the possibility that I'll be drawing some of their future tales. Itโs a wonderful series; I cherish my copies; trust me when I say theyโll always remain a favorite of mine in the years to cum ๐ What I have learned over the years, seeing different series & projects of yours come to their end, is that youโve always got something just as good, if not way way better in the works, and itโs often things we never knew we wanted or needed. Writing the stories for that series was always so fun and came with so much ease. These characters INSPIRE the heck outta me. I love their sexiness, but also their humor, their silliness, and their love for one another. There's beautiful vibe to the series. After years of drawing Isaiah, who I love intensely also, but who's been on such a dark journey, I think working on a title that is a little lighter in tone would be a wonderful change and opportunity.
