Eras Tour Part 2 Reaction

Comments

Funny you bring up About You considering it's rumored to be about a certain blondie...

Definitely listen to Speak Now! There are actually quite a few songs with almost punky (? I get Paramore and Avril Lavigne vibes) style. I only listened for the first time recently and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Definitely not my fave but a lot better than expected.

Speak now and it’s your are amazing! You should totally react to it!

Tiffany

Please listen to Speak Now & do a video on that! As a Swiftie for 20 years- Speak Now is my #1, then Reputation, Fearless, 1989, then TTPD

Kelly Anne

fun fact, the dancer who says LIKE EVER in we are never ever getting back together, has been saying it in each language of the country they are in 🥹 here in Mexico he said NUNCA

Mariana Sosa

they are all custom Louboutins, they’ve been doing her tour shoes since the Reputation tour. They’ve made 250 pairs for the Eras tour alone.

I am also a huge fan of the 1975, thanks for the reference! I usually don’t comment here regarding the drama, I am here for your thoughts on the music and production. But I’ll do one exception: Taylor using these lighted boxes and sitting on top of the box from the stage is screaming the 1975 😂

Yes a hundred times over to listening to Speak Now! It's my absolute favorite Taylor album, only just recently being given a run for its money with TTPD. Lyrically, it's all Taylor, as she wrote the album entirely by herself in response to critics who doubted that she was really pulling her weight in songwriting. Thematically it's a lot of fun, as its one of the first albums where I feel the topics touch on more than just romance. And sonically, it's a bit like Red in the sense that there's a little bit of everything. There's country, there's rock, there's pop punk. I love it so much because there's truly at least one song for everyone to enjoy. Though I'm sad its Eras Tour set is really short compared to the others, Long Live and Enchanted are a great sampling of what the album sounds like, so if those piqued your interest, I cannot recommend Speak Now enough. 💜

I love your comments about how perfectly everything has to be timed, including her costume changes, because there's actually a clip that circulates around the fandom of an instance where the platform that's supposed to send her below the stage after the Rep set didn't work properly, and so she had to follow the dancers and sprint her way backstage through the main stage door in order to ensure she got there on time to be able to make her costume change for the Speak Now segment. It's a fan favorite meme of the "errors tour" but it also does speak tremendously to the kind of quick thinking that has to be done when something like that happens that could potentially jeopardize the impeccable timing of the production.

Also, so many musical and lyrical parallels between songs on Tortured Poets and The 1975. For example, check out the beginning of imgonnagetyouback (from TTPD) compared to the beginning of Looking for Somebody to Love (from The 1975).

Aloha Record Sargent

omg you have to do Speak Now and Fearless at some point!!!!!

The girl she gives the hat to during the song 22 is Kobe Bryant’s daughter on this recording but her mom picks someone different out of the crowd for her to give it to at every show. Taylor and Kobe were pretty close and she stays in contact with his wife and kids.

Amanda Arford

Revisiting speak now one it is a great album and two it is far less country than I remember. There is a narrative that Taylor’s first steps away from country music happened on red and that to me that is certainly not the case.

Also, just want to remind you in case somebody hasn’t. In case you missed it. After the show finished, there’s a credit scene with long live. And after that she put 4 extra songs from the acoustic set. So there are 6 more songs at the very end of this. Don’t forget to watch them all. A highlight for sure. You can post them with part 3 or maybe another extra video for just those songs. But don’t skip them please… thanks Blake!

Speak now is very heavily "pop punk" inspired! Very 2010s.

Makayla Wolff

I think you will really love speak now💜

You are so real for the tolerate it part😂

I just watched and I have to say that I was super excited when it came to The 1975, but it was a shock to me that you got that reference and didn't find out that About You and Guilty as Sin from TTPD are basically two perspectives. There are some mashups on YouTube and TikTok. I'm not a professional, but it fit together.

I love Speak Now!! I've always said that if you wanna make a Taylor album into a pop-punk album, speak now would be the best option by far!
