Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I've updated here and I apologize. As noted in last post, I was travelling in last November and only came back in early December. However, before I was able to catch up on all my work, I fell sick with a severe case of bronchitis which ruined my holidays. In early January this illness then transitioned to pneumonia. I was lucky* in that I was already on some strong antibiotics then or the pnuemonia would have been a lot worse.

(*Lucky in that I was talking to a coworker who got sent to the hospital with several days of 106+F/41+C fever when his bronchitis transitioned into pnuemonia. Seriously this illness is nasty and can escalate quickly.)

This was easily the most miserable illness I've had thus far and the worst persisted until the 2nd week of January. I've been in slow recovery since (and the doctors warned me it might take quite a few weeks before my heavy mucus-induced coughing goes away). Needless to say, I've been struggling just to keep my regular work/life balance on track and a lack of focus meant Daybreak hasn't progressed much.

I'm hoping to get this changed soon and my aim is to release the chapter I've been sitting on in the first days of February. But we'll see if this happens. I was too sick to remember pausing this for January, but I'm doing so for February now in exchange.

Hope everyone else is having a much better 2024 than I am.
