Valentine's Day Story - Chiko x Fukayna

The stillness of an early winter morning was as per usual broken by a blaring siren. Its source, the small device on the nightstand, currently reading six o’ five. But today it was disrupted by another sound, the pouring water coming from the bathroom. The one enduring all these sounds was still laid in bed, half asleep as she turned over from silencing the siren and pressed her hand around the empty spot beside her. Her long violet hair was unkempt from the rest, it matched the oversized shirt she wore, which hid a pair of panties beneath. However this full form remained covered by a thick layer of blankets. Fukayna groaned, her hands scanning further across the bed, only to be met with a cold spot that instantly forced her to retreat to the cozy position. Soon, the sound of water ceased and she looked over to the door expectantly.

A form emerged from the bathroom but the blinding light of its amber bulbs forced the genie to shield her eyes. Once several blinks had adjusted her vision, there was her partner. A tall, well built individual with purple locks of his own that still dripped water from the tips. He only had on a pair of black boxers, the cloth themselves sitting slightly ajar but would be corrected with enough time. “Mornin’ Fuka.” Chiko spoke softly, his deep voice resonating through the room, as the djinn sat up slightly.

“Mmh… good morning…” Fukayna yawned, rubbing her eyes, as she tried to keep herself awake.

The genie snapped her fingers, causing a cloud of smoke to erupt and dissipate around Chiko’s head as his hair dried instantly. The once flat and damp dyed mane now looked  full and fluffy. Just how Chiko tended to like his hair. “Do you have to head to work right now…?” Fukayna whispered as Chiko began to dig for a clean pair of pants, with the question making the young man roll his eyes.

“Yeah. I’m gonna go to work. I’m not wastin’ a wish to be lazy.” Chiko answered firmly, returning to the bed with his back turned to Fukayna.

Her eyes trailed up his form. The muscle was paired with a dozen long scars, each one that potentially held a story but those were tales that Fukayna never pried for. She began to slowly shift away from her spot, gently wrapping herself around him from behind. An act which caused Chiko to jump and notably tense up. “Well, you have time, don’t you?” Fukayna purred.

Once Chiko settled down, his defenses lowered, he looked at the clock and gently placed a hand onto Fukayna’s arm. He certainly had time to kill before his shift today but the question was more so on what she wanted. “Already itchin’ for some action this early?” Chiko remarked, leaning back into her so he could gently kiss her cheek.

“N-Not that kind of way, you mutt.” Fukayna protested, her ears drooping just a bit once she felt his lips against her.

“Ahhh… I see. You want to be pampered. Don’t you?” Chiko teased.

Fukayna pouted, she always hated when she had to ask for his affection. Today, of all days, it should be without hesitation! Perhaps it was still too early for Chiko’s brain to process. But the djinn relented and nodded her head. “And I wish for that fancy toast you make.” Fukayna stated firmly, causing Chiko to chuckle softly to himself.

“French toast?” He asked.

Fukayna nodded firmly. Chiko sighed and began to stand, dragging Fukayna with him as she held on. She kept her arms around his neck, draping them over the shoulders like a scarf, as he began moving from his bedroom. She didn’t like how cold the apartment was at this hour, usually Chiko turned the heat up once he left, getting up this early was just going to be full of challenges. The genie didn’t waste any more time, using her magic to turn the heat up and make it come on faster. “Wonder if I even have the eggs for it…” Chiko mumbled to himself, opening the fridge, only for Fuka to make sure he had what he needed.

“I will not allow this morning to be ruined by your misjudgment.”

“Somebody’s needy today.” Chiko teased, dropping her off on the couch, as he began to prepare for her meal.

Is he seriously this dense? Fukayna thought, her eyebrows furrowing, as she watched him work in his element. I gave him the chance to spend the whole day with me and he rejected it! I thought this day of love for mortals would be in MY favor.

“You good over there? Looks like you’re staring daggers into me.” Chiko asked, beginning to coat the bread in the mix of yolk and cinnamon.

“Are you sure you don’t want to spend today with me? I can just… y’know.” Fukayna asked once more, now curious how he’d word himself or if her being stubborn would be enough.

“It’s not that I don’t want to spend the day with you-” Chiko began.

“You mortals made a whole day for love and you’re choosing to go to work!” Fukayna whined, finally connecting the dots for Chiko.

Oh. That’s what this is about. Chiko blinked slowly, not exactly sure how to respond. This was all so new to him. He had been on dates before but Fuka was different. She wasn’t a one and done he’d ditch by morning, he had to keep her around and now-

“Pick your words carefully, mortal. Otherwise, I’m just going to deny you of your primal urges for a whole month!” Fukayna crossed her arms, which wasn’t really picked up on by Chiko given that the couch faced away from the kitchen.

Chiko had to be very cautious with the choice of words he had. He thought it was just that she was horny. Now? God, he had no clue how to navigate this. For a man who had bedded and flirted with many people before, navigating a relationship was next to impossible for him. He could indulge her, he could take the day off but he also didn’t want to keep rewarding her attitude.

“You’re not really giving me a good choice here. Y’know how much I love makin’ food for people.” Chiko began.

“But you love me more, I know. At this point, you might as well just say you’ll take the day off. Better yet, if you want to make it up to me for even considering-”

“Fuka.” Chiko snapped, quickly stopping her ramblings, as she returned her attention to him, “I cannot spend the whole day with you. I thought you hated human holidays anyways!”

“I-It’s more out of principle that you should celebrate it!” Fukayna argued.

“Look. I made a commitment to work. I am really happy making ramen for people. I worked my ass off to get there. If you would have told me two weeks ago, I would have taken it off myself.”

Fukayna rolled her eyes, opening her mouth to speak, only for Chiko to quickly put a stop to that as well. “So I’m going to spend my morning with you. I’ll pamper you up and shower you with affection, then I’ll go to work and afterwards, I’ll make a nice dinner and spend the night with you. Like I always do.” Chiko stated.

“So I have to spend eight hours doing nothing until you get back?” Fukayna pouted.

“If you want to. But when I get back, we can do whatever you want to do. Okay?” That seemed to be at least… enough to get Fuka to calm down.

“Fine.” Fukayna sighed, letting her toes gently run along the top of her foot, as she waited impatiently for Chiko to return.

Eventually, her mortal came over and gave her the plate. Finely sliced sticks, a small bowl for syrup, just right for relaxing as he took her divine soles into his lap and began to tenderly rub them. His thumbs gliding along the arches, pressing just hard enough to not only be relaxing but not cause any fidgeting or laughter. He was almost an expert in his craft, having spent so much time massaging her feet that it was second nature for him. “So, if I’m going off what you were saying… you love me, don’t you?” Chiko teased, knowing that the foot rub would be enough to tame the genie’s rage.

“D-Don’t read into it! Besides, you didn’t deny loving me!”

“Yeah, that’s true.” Chiko smirked, glancing over to see the blush spread like fire along Fukayna’s cheeks, “I just prefer not to say it.”

For once, the genie didn’t really have a remark to make. She just… shutdown and ate quietly. Perhaps that was all she needed for now.
