Book Club Pick - Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

1. It will be a fascinating discussion on beauty standards and plastic surgery
2. It's part of a series, so if you enjoy this book, Pretties/Specials and a new series Imposters is out there too
3. It looks like this is being adapted into a Netflix movie that Joey King will star in, so we have that to look forward to! ("Starring alongside King is Orange is the New Black star Laverne Cox, Outer Banks star Chase Stokes, and I Know What You Did Last Summer actor Brianne Tju.")
4. As a secret final piece of information...I'm working to try and get the author, Scott Westerfeld, to come on the podcast - so let's put some collective good energy out there that he can make it! (I also tried for Taylor Jenkins Reid haha but it was unsuccessful)
The time/date for the book club discussion will be Sunday, April 30th at 12pm EST. I hope this works well for everyone - figured it gave folks spanning US west coast to Europe a good time frame, but we can always do a second discussion if needed!
