I also agree with Taylor that it’s likely that most of the punishments doled out to accounts like yours are likely algorithmic rather than targeted take-downs. Like the new Link-removal punishment, I’d guess that it’s a consequence of a directive to simply prevent so much traffic from leaving the app. It’s heavy-handed & will have shitty consequences for creators, but it’s understandable from IG/Zuck’s pov

I’m blown away at the part where Taylor says art school was off-putting to her because they wanted her to essentially focus on traditional drawing & painting skills. I’m almost the same age as her, and a figurative painter, and literally nowhere in Britain at the time (early 2000s) would entertain figurative art - especially painting - let alone encourage it & offer classes in color theory or life drawing. Maybe the culture in The States was very different, but that’s pretty surprising to hear.
