Russia-Ukraine Flash Report for 6-14-22 12:30 PDT - Ukraine Destroys Major Russia Ammo Dump
Added 2022-06-14 19:32:08 +0000 UTCIn the city of Nova Kakhovka, 50 kilometers behind the line of conflict, Ukraine has destroyed a large ammunition depot. This is in the Kherson oblast, and on the south bank of the Dnipro River. Nova Kakhovka is a major logistics hub for all operations in the Kherson oblast. Training areas for Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) militias are located southwest of the city.
The size of the depot and continuous secondary explosions indicate this was a very large facility. There are reports this was done through artillery, but this is highly unlikely. We have seen reports that Ukraine has advanced to within 25km to 30km of Nova Kakhovka but we see nothing to support this. The closest safe points for a shoot and scoot artillery strike is 50km and 55km away, which is out of range of almost every artillery platform on the planet, let alone within the Ukrainian arsenal.
