Russia-Ukraine Flash Report 12 OCT 2022 10:00 PDT - Russian Aviation has a Bad Day
Added 2022-10-12 16:58:30 +0000 UTCThe Ukrainian Air Force is reporting that in the span of 18 minutes, four Russian Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopters were shot down and another two were damage.
We can't verify the full veracity of this claim, and we usually don't share, "trust me bro" reports from either belligerent on downed aircraft. However, there is chatter on Russian Telegram that supports that some Ka-52 helicopters were shot down, but not an exact number.

We have been reporting for almost two months now that Ukraine has been doing suppress and destroy enemy air defense (SEAD/DEAD) across southern Zaporizhia concentrating on the Tokmak and Melitopol areas. This activity is likely driving the rumors among Russian milbloggers that Ukraine is preparing a larger counteroffensive in this direction.
