Along the Russia-Ukraine border, Shakhty has received up to 50 centimeters of snow according to computer models. Rostov-on-Don has received significantly less, 5 to 7 centimeters, while Donetsk has received 15 to 20 centimeters and Bakhmut over 20 centimeters. The Svatove and Kreminna Operational Areas have also received more than 20 centimeters of snow and it still coming down.
In some areas of the Rostov federal district, highways are completely blocked and snow drifts are so high that heavy snow removal equipment is getting stuck. Roads are blocked with thousands of cars and trucks, some immobile for over 12 hours.
It should come as no surprise that combat operations were blunted today, with the only significant combat reports we're seeing are within Bakhmut itself.
This early spring blizzard will have a more significant impact on Russian logistics than Ukrainian, because the areas hit the hardest are occupied Donetsk and Luhansk. More in the Situation Report tonight.
