Page 1. Now that I've fully adapted to my new form, I'm writing a proper report of the happenings of what has now been deemed among the staff here as “The Incident”, that faithful day when everything changed, for me, and the rest of the world.
My fellow researchers and I with the P and P for the course of a few months had been conducting research on a strange substance, found by one of our expedition teams deep within the arctic peninsula.
Through the research of my colleagues and I, we managed to discover trace elements of Dinosaur DNA in the substance, other than that, other parts where completely unknown to science. Initial lab results concluded that the substance was not volatile, or dangerous when handled with protection, but animal testing was yet to be conducted. Therefor the substance was considered low risk, and kept in closed vials for examination and Lab purposes.
Page 2. The day of the incident itself was just another typical day of research for the substance. I was just finishing up documenting my findings for the day, which honestly where nothing new, when through my negligence I turned around in my chair and knocked the flask off my desk. At first, I was not too worried, the flasks were supposedly shatter proof, and had been reported to not
Page 3. break in the past. There must have been some subtle form of corrosivity to the substance that was yet unknown, regardless of the reason, shatter it did.
The substance seemed to have a volatile reaction when hitting the floor, making it glow much more brightly than usual, the smaller droplets seemed to be attracted to my skin, and where quickly absorbed on contact. Turns out, I was to be the first animal it would be tested on.
Page 4. The changes to my body at first, where subtle, changes to the tone and texture of my skin. But minutes after the structure of my body began to change. My toes began pushing out of my shoes, adorned with the unmistakable hoof-like nails of a Parasaurolophus. During the process the substance gelatinized and then crystallize quickly after, cementing the flask in its time of impact.
Page 5. The real pain started when my spine began to elongate and push out into a tail, all the while filling my mind with its new feelings and sensations, with what seemed like every new vertebrae came a spout of confusion. I could also feel the back of my head and face extending outward, pushing my goggles to the top of my head.
Page 6. When the pain of my tail subsided I opened my eyes to see the sides of my noes protruding out in front of me, my heels were also locked in an upright position leaving me standing only on my toes. I reached up to examine my head. I could feel the Nasal Crest growing longer and longer, my heavy breathing making it vibrate with every breath.
Page 7. I worked hard to calm myself, when my breathing started making strange bugle like sounds which vibrated my crest to almost a point of discomfort. At that point my body felt like it was beginning to stabilize, and feeling came fully into my tail, I could feel it pressed against something and looked back to see my lab chair had fallen over and my pony tail was on the floor next to it in a mass. Surely I unknowingly hit the chair with my tail, it did feel like I was in pain from hitting something hard in that region.
Looking over my now completely foreign body, I wasn't sure how I should feel, or how it all felt normal to me. But I know I was glad that it stopped when it did and I did not become more bestial. It left me in what seemed to be the perfect mixture of both Human and Parasaur. And with no adverse side effects other than the additional anatomical features and senses characteristic of the species.
Page 8. Currently I have found it to be quite a gift. To be the catalyst that brought this creature back from millions of years of extinction, at least in some living and breathing form. With new variations of the substance coming in from our Expedition group almost weekly now, each with a different strand of Dinosaur DNA within, I am surely not going to be the last of my kind either!
This is the first Type of this style of comic I've done in 3D, and boy was it ambitious! A new character model, set, and MANY new prop and prop edits, movement morphs along with custom clothing models and movement morphs for the clothing were created for this sequence, not to mention the little short story written to go along with it too! ^_^
This sequence features one of my 3D character Projects of the past month, a Parasaur gal going through, shall we say, a bit of a change in her daily routine. ;P
The whole project was a lot of fun, and I quite like the simple layout, though I think I'd try to do a few things differently if I was to do it again. Traditional Panel style Comic strips may be a better and more ideal alternative, Need to get my hands on a comic compiling program of some sort on the free market.
But as we all know this is all pretty new to me still, and I like the process of experimentation on new methods of presentation! ^o^
Hope you all enjoy! ^_^
