Background Experiment

How does a more classical wildlife art style background suit you?

I think I will downplayer the paper aspect as you say, as for the background I was going for a sort of Peter Schouten thing: http://animal.memozee.com/Copyrighted01/1101609488.jpg

Thanks :)

Alex

That was the plan :)

I will definitely keep some of the ideas, but try to make it look a bit more natural

Alex

Yeah I will see if I can maintain their metallic look.

I like the background, but not the aged paper look. Something about the image says it's modern, which really doesn't suit the aged paper. I might choose a different colour for the backdrop, too, as it takes the edge off the iridescent look of the 'birds'.

I really love that background idea.

Very cool, love it! Reminds me of my "Birds of America" book from 1936: http://i.imgur.com/92z4wDc.jpg

Looks cool!

Maybe a bit much foxing in the aged paper look. I guess, whether it's a full bleed background or vignetted like this depends on the contexts it will be presented in, and if it relates to another part of the project. For instance, if the climate, geographic location, air color and time of day are relevant and therefore dictate the color, or if text or any type of infographic will accompany it making a vignette more ideal? Great piece so far.
