Added 2020-01-10 16:43:18 +0000 UTCFurther work on the rig and its surrounds at the dry upper sections of the inlet: the plants are composite species, the round base a tough organism that can extract nutrients and water from the ground, while the stems are a separate symbiote producing food for bother partners.

I'm digging the notion of symbiotic trees- I've been in a deep dive about assorted breeds of endosymbionts (and it might end up motivating some research if I can get anyone to have me). Also, ya know, it's pretty and stuff.

2020-01-12 07:37:00 +0000 UTCI really like the idea of a tree-like composite organism, where the "mycorrhiza" totally replaces the function of a root. That's what I call an alien "plant" design! To my opinion, the same goes for the birrin "trees": the shade of the orange leaves is light enough to not being unattractive while still feeling alien. Are you planning on designing the work wear for the rig workers?
