It provides a home for the branched leafy form, one providing energy from the sun, the other water and nutrients. The open space inside is a nesting site for many flying creatures which produce nutritious debris for the roots to absorb on the inner wall.

2020-01-17 16:58:01 +0000 UTCLet's see, it's grows in near the Kiln, so it's heat adapted. The holes in the side let the wind blow through. In the morning, there maybe some moisture in the air, so as it blows through the tree, the spines on the inside will encourage condensation and thus water collection, that filters down to the base. Am I close?
