I like the bright idea of moving the less important instruments behind the pilot's head to save forward visibility. It takes advantage of the birrins' ability to look back by turining one of their stalks instead of turining their head or using mirrors like we did in the MD-80. Speaking of mirrors, that also means they don't need to make the reading on the instruments mirrored left to right to be readable in the mirrors, like we did with the MD-80's magnetic compass. Compass, however, couldn't be one of the backward facing instruments in this birrin cockpit because that would otherwise make the pilot disoriented. Instead, compass would be one of the forward facing instruments. That way the birrin pilot could then see in which compass point they are going relative to the earth bellow.
