Floatplane WIP

Forgive the literally a photo temp background: used for informing the lighting.

External view of the Puddlejumper: currently working a tail-less angle, using a deep wing wing with 'elevon' control surfaces.

Also, I really like the slight front quarter, high-angle perspective of the plane with a large view of the valley behind it.

I really like the wing design from a practical standpoint. As far as I know, the massive elevon wing makes a lot of sense for a plane with very limited range and the required short takeoff distance. Like in the mighty de Havilland Beaver, having a lot of wing area means five things: you can carry more than with a smaller wing, you don't need to use max power to get airborne and/or you can use max power and get airborne from extremely confined lakes and rivers, the plane can get quicker to its cruising altitude where the ground speed is at its highest, and lastly you don't need to worry as much pulling hard on the yoke during takeoff since a big wing has a small stall speed. Combining the aileron wing and rear elevators with an elevon wing means the tail creates less air resistance, increasing the range of the plane even further.
